Message from our President….

I would like to welcome all the new and returning parents to Placer.  The Friends of Placer High School has two objectives, first to support communication to the parents via email, web or newsletter and two, raise monies to support the school.  Over the years, FOPHS has been able to support such activities as wish lists for teachers and staff not funded by the school, Senior Grad night, staff appreciation, athletic programs and much more.   We raise monies thru membership drive, SCRIP programs such as Raleys/Bel Air, Savemart and Safeway, casino night event and general donations from the community.

Our membership drive began on the first day of school.  Our goal is to raise over $5,000, so if you did not receive your form in the mail in August let us know and we can send you another one.  You can also donate online by going to www.fophs,org  click on the donate button on the right hand side of the home page or click on the membership form located on the About Us page our website, complete it and send to the office with your donation.   Any donation would be appreciated, it all makes a difference.

We have some new board members this year that I would like to welcome, Jennifer Hensler and Lisa Voss.  Jennifer will be the treasurer and Lisa will be the secretary.  We always encourage parents to get involved so please take an opportunity to come to one of our meetings this year and find out what FOPHS is all about.   We do have the following positions open for the school year:

Vice President – Responsibility to support Presidential responsibilities. Coordinate any fundraising events FOPHS plans to host/sponsor.  Work with other board members to provide support when needed.

Shadow positions – Hospitality    We are looking to have a person shadow the current parent member this year to learn and take over in 2014-2015.

Stay connected to what is going on at the school and come to our first meeting, September 4th at 6:30pm in the staff lounge upstairs above the school office.  Thank you in advance for your support!
