We are hosting the “Green and Gold Food & Wine Festival”  to raise monies for all programs at Placer from education to arts to welding to sports. The event will be held on April 9th  from 6:00 to 9:30 pm in the Sierra Building at Gold Country Fairgrounds and  includes wine and food tastings from local wineries and eateries, silent auction, raffle and much more. Have you told yourself you would like to help but not sure how?  Ask us how?  We have many areas that parent volunteers are always welcomed.  From becoming a member, registering for SCRIP,  to committee positions and more.  This year, we have some new faces and energy which has been great to help FOPHS keep evolving to becoming a great parent organization that supports Placer.  If you are interested in helping out, plan to come to a meeting or email us. We would like to hear from you!

We are looking for some new faces for next year  to fill committee positions opening up. It would be great to have people in place before the next school year.  You can come to a meeting, email us at fophsnpo@puhsd.k12.us.ca  or call me at 916-952-1019.   I look forward to hearing from you.

We encourage all parents to get involved it is a great way to stay informed what is going on around the school.   You can come to our next board on April 6th or May 4  at 6:30 pm in the staff lounge to hear what we have planned along with Mr. E and what is happening within the school and district.

Vina Castellano is like a little piece of Spain, in the Sierra Foothills. Since breaking ground for Viña Castellano in 1999, the Mendez family has built an mini empire of Spanish wines complete with a treasure trove of Best of Class, Double Gold, Gold and Silver medals. The family specializes in the complex flavors of Tempranillo, Syrah, Grenache Mourvedre and Verdejo grapes. In the tasting room, visitors can sip new pressings and old favorites, and pick up a fine cigar to enjoy outside or on the pavillion on the pond with a glass or bottle of their favorite wine. The Mendez and Wilkins families are proud Hillmen – past, present and future!

The Nungaray family hail from Guadalajara, Mexico. Seven years ago, then-19-year-old Celenne Nungaray moved to Auburn with her parents, Francisca and Ferman, and two younger siblings, Yeraldin and Hugo.
The family opened their first El Agave Taqueria at 10007 Combie Road in 2011, followed by the second location at 1285 Grass Valley Highway in 2013. The family also opened Pollo Asado Mr. Jimmy in North Auburn in 2014.

Sierra Knolls Winery produces small lots of fine wine with close attention to every detail of the wine-making process.  The owners, Steve & Brenda Taylor, are long time wine lovers who began making wine with friends 17 years ago as home wine makers.  Our wines are aged in French & American oak barrels, or stainless in our 50 foot barrel cave. Sierra Knolls Winery is green-minded and solar powered.  We offer a variety of whites and reds, as well as sparkling and dessert wine.
Our beautiful and friendly tasting room is conveniently located just off Hwy 49 between Auburn and Grass Valley.  Wine Tasting, Friday night live music and food May – October. Available for private parties and events.  Stop by!  Love to meet you!

The eclectic menu of island-inspired Caribbean cuisine at Joe Caribe comes from chef-owner, Joe Gleason’s, many years in the restaurant industry in the San Francisco Bay Area, Florida and New York’s Culinary Institute of America.
