Join us for an abundance of delicious food and wine tastings highlighting the wonderful vintners and eateries in our area. The event, which will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, 6:00 – 9:00 PM, at the Gold Country Fairgrounds Sierra Building, Auburn, CA, provides an opportunity for the community to support their high school while also enjoying food, drink, silent auction and raffle prizes.

Hello Placer Families!
We have had a great start to our year. We are excited to have a full board. I would like to send out a thank you, though, to our outgoing President, Kim Lightfoot and outgoing Vice President, Judy Pruett. They have been the backbone of Friends of Placer High School for the past several years. They have spent countless hours in service to the school and its programs and I can’t thank them enough. Big shoes to fill!
Our membership drive is off and running to start the year. Thank you to everyone that has already signed up. Being a member is crucial to achieving our goal to raise over $5,000 so we can provide academic supplies for teachers and staff and support for many other programs, like sports, art and welding. This year you can pay online through our website. You can go to www.fophs.org and click on the DONATE button on the front page or send an email to email@example.com for a form to be emailed to you.
We always encourage parents to get involved so please come to one of our meetings this year and find out what FOPHS is all about. Attending the meeting allows you to hear, in more depth, what’s going on at PHS, ask questions and get an update from our Interim principal, Mr. Caminiti, who also attends regularly.
We are in need of parent volunteers to help with the following:
Grad Night Committee volunteers to fundraise, design and decorate, staff the
Spring Fundraiser Volunteers to help with decorating, obtaining sponsors,
Helping with set up and clean up.

Dear Placer High School Families,
I would like to welcome all the new and returning parents to Placer. The Friends of Placer High School Organization has two objectives, first to provide information to the parents via email, web or newsletter and secondly, raise monies to support the school. Over the years, FOPHS has been able to support such activities as the wish lists for teachers and staff not funded by the school, i.e., Senior Grad night, athletic programs and much more. We raise monies thru our membership drive, SCRIP programs such as Raleys/Bel Air, Savemart and Safeway, an annual fundraising event and general donations from the community. We have kicked off our membership drive and asked you to consider becoming a member and making a donation. Being a member is crucial to achieving our goal to raise over $5,000 so we can provide academic supplies for teachers and staff and support for many other programs, like sports, art and welding. The first meeting of Friends Of Placer High School, our parent organization, for the new school year is this Wednesday, September 7, in the staff lounge in the Admin building at 6:30 pm. Be informed, be involved. We would love to see some new faces.

Auburn Rotary has some exciting things happening in our Family area this year. There will be a climbing wall, bounce house, inflatable obstacle course, slack line, clowns & a kids craft and science area provided by LilyPad Early Learning Center. Kids 5 and under are FREE, Children 6-12 $10 and Adults are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.
The monies they raise from the BBQ go back to the Community of Auburn:
RYLA & REGAL leadership programs for 8th graders & 12th graders
Stand Up Placer
Boys & Girls Club
Many other events or programs that enrich our community.

The Friends of Placer High School, Placer High School’s Parent Organization, is seeking to fill 2 board positions open for the 2016-2017 school year. Kim Lightfoot, President and Judy Pruett, Vice President are stepping down and we need to fill their positions. If you are interested in being a part of a wonderful group of Placer parents, please send your name to Mr. E by August 10th. Currently, we have 1 nomination and the board will vote on candidates later this month in time for the first FOPHS Board meeting September 7th at 6:30pm.

We close the year with many successes but most important was the parent involvement and the increase of new parents that stepped up to be a part of the parent organization. We look forward to next year and achieving our fundraising goals to increase membership and monies to support the teacher wish lists, sports, art, welding and much more.
