Pruett Vineyard_Logo

On an eastern slope of the Northern Sierras, just above the American River Gorge, Champion Racecar driver Scott Pruett and his wife, Judy, decided to turn their dream of becoming winemakers into reality. They wanted to create special, exciting, small lot, hand crafted, premium wines which would be true to their fruit and could be enjoyed by wine lovers everywhere in the company of good friends. Unlike the fast paced world of racing, there is nothing rushed about this endeavor. Each grape cluster ripens slowly, and the wine itself ages in the finest French Oak barrels under the watchful eyes of the winemakers. The results of such patience are wines that are lush, complex, and a delight to the palette. So while we gather family and friends to enjoy the fruits of our labor of love, we hope you will do the same.  Cheers!

*Pruett Vineyard had the highest Wine Spectator rated Syrah in 2012 (96 pts) in all of California and #3 in the world. Their 2013 Championship Cuvee is tied for #3 in the world (94 pts). Learn more by visiting: www.pruettvineyard.com

To wet your appetite, each week leading up to the Green and Gold Food and Wine Festival, we will share highlights of each of the wineries attending our event.

This Week’s Featured Winery LeCasque_logo_solid_helmetCasque Wines is a small production winery specializing in Rhone and Bordeaux style wines. Casque was founded in 2006 with the release of our first Le Casque wines in the fall of 2008. Casque Wines opened up its new winery facility in Loomis in 2011 and the Tasting Room at the Flower Farm in 2013.

Casque Wines was created with one goal in mind – to produce small lots of wine from the absolute best vineyard sources in the Sierra Foothills and surrounding areas. We embrace the time honored French tradition of blending several different varietals together to create a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts.
